And I did it…Thai Way!
Skeptical as I was, there was nothing I can do as we have boarded the plane bound for Manila on that day. From Tacloban City Philippines we took a connecting flight bound for Manila then from Manila to Bangkok on that same day. It was a bit strenuous and tiring for me as I was travelling with 3 of our kids. There’s nothing that kept me from being tense but the fact that we are actually going to a country where only few understands and speaks the English language.
However, as I have just said there’s no turning back as we are already bound for Bangkok that night. It took 3 hours for the plane to reach our final destination, Bangkok.
And as the plane was hovering above the vast and luminous City, strange kind of feeling embodies me. Doubtful as to how I and my children will be able to cope with such sudden change.
After meeting us at the airport we headed straightly to the apartment where my wife had been staying for several years. Though my body felt tired, I couldn’t get myself to sleep. Still wondering as to how will our life be in such a strange land, though I have behold how beautiful and well developed it is more than that of my country itself.
So, now here we are the whole family and we’ve been here for almost 3 years now. My three kids are studying in a Thai School and all of them can actually understand and speak Thai. Though my eldest son is still having some difficulties my daughter and my younger son can understand and communicate Pasa-Thai well.
In the span of almost 3 years, I have seen and witnessed the unique, amazing and amusing traits, characteristics as well as culture and traditions of the Thai people. And it is the aim of this article to promote such culture and let the whole world even my own country know, that sticking and keeping the very essence of being who really are can still bring success and prosperity in a country.
Let this be the first among the series of articles that I intend to write on such subject. And show the world how the people of the land of smile do it in their own way.
