Two Wheels in Thailand
The movement from bicycles to BMW’s in one generation has left the old black Pheasant one speeds to rust on sidewalks and been replaced by the shine of the "beamers" by the curb in the Thai sun. In northern Thailand a large group of bikes meet and ride using the old bikes and an unusual mix of new and bamboo covered hybrid stuff. In the early morning of a Sunday there are 50 to a hundred people of all ages meet and ride as a group. The best part of this tour is the use of old bikes in top shape, the early morning sights of the city, and the experience of forcing the cars to the side as way is made for the herd of bicycles coming through. If you go to Thailand and want to have a great experience, get a ride in, wear a lime green shirt and catch a few of the sights that the locals consider high on their list, try this out for size.
