Huay Tung Tao Resevior
Chiang Mai's is no seaside province but the locals do enjoy to go to their beach for some swimming and relaxation. Huay Tung Tao is a huge man made reservoir just outside the city with a mountain view where you can swim, sit, fish or just dine Thai style in one of the many bamboo restaurant huts at the waters edge that keep down your thirst and hunger.
Bikes are available for hire at the entrance to the lake for 40 baht an hour. The cost to get into the reservoir park is just 20 baht per person, regardless of whether you are Thai or foreigner.If crowds on the weekend are not your thing, just take a picnic and head to the other side of the lake.
Located off Klongchonpratahn Road, beyond the 700 Year Stadium. In the Maerim area.
