REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE IN THAILAND
Civil marriage can be registered at a registrar's office, called an "Amphoe" in Thai. The nearest "Amphoe" to the Canadian Embassy is Amphoe Bangrak, on Nares Road. The office hours of the Amphoes are Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 16:30.
The Amphoe requires a declaration confirming the marital status and permanent address of the client, and two references in Canada. This declaration is to be completed and notarized at a Canadian Embassy in Bangkok or Consulate in Chiang Mai. Since Thai is the official language, the notarized English declaration that the client completes needs to be translated into Thai by a professional translators (please see attached list)
