Thai Marriage Translation Registration Requirements

Marriage Documentation Translation Service

This is for people who are getting married with Lanna Weddings or in Chiang Mai.

Firstly Thai weddings are legal only if registered properly!

You need an affidavit, signed by your embassy or consulate stating who you are and that you may get married under Thai law.

If you are American, Canadian, Japanese (site) or British you can arrange for the Affidavit in Chiang Mai avoiding the delays and traffic of getting it in Bangkok (It's your choice). You just come to Chiang Mai and we will take you to your consulate and do everything else for you. It does take a few days of waiting but Chiang Mai will entertain you well.

For most other western Nationalities you will have to go to your embassy in Bangkok and get the affidavit done there. Then just give it to us and we do the rest.

When you have decided on a date, we will explain to you in detail what you need for your country. But for most countries a Valid passport, acompanied by original divorce papers if you are divorced.

Or: You can do it all yourself. if you like suffering bureaucracy and time is not a problem

The following counties may need to start the paperwork in their home country or at least check latest updates.
